Employers – Senior Canada Works

Senior Canada Works (SCW) offers eligible employers wage subsidies and access to a pool of skilled senior workers aged 55 and older, bringing decades of experience and expertise. Subsidies to eligible employers facilitate the creation of about 2,300 job opportunities per year in fields such as heritage, arts, culture, and official languages.

The SCW program is delivered through two main components:

SCW sponsors two employment programs for experienced seniors:

Senior Canada Works in Heritage Organizations

This employment program typically lasts between 6 and 16 weeks and supports organizations in Canada that have a heritage mandate.

For the 2024-2025 funding cycle, the application deadline is January 19, 2024.

Senior Canada Works in Both Official Languages

This employment program also lasts between 6 and 16 weeks, and supports organizations in Canada which conduct activities in both official languages.

SCW sponsors two internship programs for seniors who are either unemployed, underemployed, or seeking a career transition:

Senior Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage

This program offers several types of internships, supporting organizations from the heritage, arts, and cultural sectors. Internships usually range from 4 to 12 months.

For the 2024-2025 funding cycle, the application deadline is January 19, 2024.

This program supports a wide range of organizations operating in an official-language environment and offers paid internships lasting 4 to 12 months:
